Welcome to Diving Central! Clear blue waters, abundant marine
life and the hospitality of experienced divers await you. Combine
those ingredients with warm sunlight and a backdrop of west coast
mountains and you've got a diving vacation fit for, well - you -
and a crew of your closest friends.
We've always known that our ocean was special but you can also
ask the National Geographic and the Cousteau Society because
they both came and did extensive stories on our diving locations.
If
you like to dive be sure and check out the Tuwanek Point Dive in
the book 101 Dives by Betty Pratt-Johnson.If you are diving on the
public beach " the spit" at Tuwanek please be sure to
park in the designated areas and respect the privacy of the local
residents. You'll find most of them are very nice and they don't
mind sharing the beach as long as you clean up after yourselves.
Be sure and check out Tuwanek diving at shore
diving.com and don't forget to add your review of the area.
Keep in mind there are no washroom facilities on the Tuwanek Spit
so please make sure you stop in town on your way out. Tranquility
Bay has a DAN o2 Oxygen Rescue Pack and Diving first aid kit on
site as well as contact numbers for diving emergencies. Be sure
to pop down and check out our diving pages for great pictures of
the local marine life, getaways as well
as the Chaudiere, an artificial
reef that was sunk just 15 minutes by boat from Tranquility Bay.
Have fun, dive safely and remember,
Take only pictures and leave only bubbles.....
Suncoast Diving and Tranquility Bay team up to provide you with everything
you'll need to explore the waters of the Sunshine Coast. Tony can

The Dives
Shore
Diving - Walk right out of your cabin into some of the clearest
water in the world. Enjoy the company of crabs, jellyfish, stars
and other shore life before your morning java. You can shore dive
directly from our beach or the beach at the Tuwanek Spit. For an
overview of the Tuwanek shore dive drop into shorediving.com.
Be sure and add your rating of the area and our great local diving.
Drift Dives - Drift with the ocean and take in the beauty
of the marine life that makes
its home in our waters. Colorful baby crabs, sponges, nudibranchs,
wolf eels, cabezons and octopi provide a visual feast. The gentle
currents of Tzoonie Narrows offer plenty of time to get that perfect
photography shot.
Current Dives - A challenging dive in the Skookumchuck
Rapids, The Glory Hole is one of the current dives available to
the experienced diver. For a minutes each day the turbulent tides
of the Skookumchuck allow for diving into The Glory Hole. This underwater
canyon is home to the roughest and toughest
survivors of the rapid waters. The colours are a symphony of
neon green and red anemones, yellow sponges and deep purple stars.
Adding the multitude of different plant and animal textures makes
this dive rich in visual delights while demanding exacting diving
technique.
Wall Dives - Tony can take you on a variety of exciting
wall dives that include step and shear walls. Two of the more popular
wall dives are the Agamemnon Channel Dive by the village of Egmont
which is famous for its sponge and coral, and the Eagles Perch Dive
in the Sechelt Inlet .
Wreck Dives - In 1992 the HMCS
Chaudiere had a sinking feeling but the diving crowd was
uplifted to see her begin a new life as an artificial reef. Since
then The Chaud , as she is affectionately known, has become
home to a diverse community of marine creatures. One feels they
are observing you as much as you are them. Having deservedly gained
a reputation as one of the best wreck dives on the Pacific Coast
The Chaud gets more amazing with each year.
