Favourite Things to do and Sport Getaways

Relax in one of our cabins, have romantic dinners, play with the kids on sandy beaches, explore the coastal culture, cook a fresh seafood dinner over an open fire - Tranquility Bay gives you the opportunity to enjoy every minute of your holiday.

Getaway and Mtn Bike at Tranquility Bay, Sechelt, the Sunshine CoastWalk or bike the trails of our many parks and forest trails:

  • The Skookumchuck Narrows - watch these saltwater rapids change direction as the tide changes - very spectacular
  • The Caren Range - the oldest forest in Canada, having lived for 10,000 years without a major disturbance
  • Cliff Gilker Park - greener than green with moss-covered fir trees and rambling mountain creeks
  • Mount Daniel - ancient moon rings and a spectacular view await you at the top of this hiking trail
  • Kinnikinnick Park - wild flowers abound in this undiscovered park

  • bald eagles, great blue herons, Canada geese, cormorants, loons, mallards, hummingbirds, buffleheads and red-wing blackbirds make their homes here
  • wild flowers and herbs including poppies, tiger and chocolate lilies, star flowers, violets and kinnikinnick grow abundantly on the Coast
  • red and yellow cedar, Douglas fir, broadleaf maple and arbutus trees reside in great quantities in dense forests or alone on high rock bluffs - you will even find the rare Hairy Manzanite (an exotic species of the arbutus tree) hiding out here

  • The Sunset Cruise is 2-3 hours of spectacular colour and is a perfect way to end a day, and begin an evening. Watch the mountains and ocean settle into the peacefulness of evening. Then settle into your own peacefulness along with them.

  • A Fishing Charter will take you out for 3 hours of fishing in some of the clearest and most fish abundant waters anywhere. Cast your line for salmon, red snapper and cod, then sit back in the sun and relax until you feel that big one take the line.
